Have you thought about becoming better equipped for ministry, but could not get to a college or seminary?  Then Seminary Extension is for you!  No matter what God's call on your life is, equipping is part of it.  Seminary Extension is one of the best kept secrets in Christian Education.

Come grow with us--at Chicago Metropolitan Baptist Association Seminary Extension Center, located at 2237 West 120th Street, Blue Island, IL.  Seminary Extension is not a degree granting institution, but does offer several types of certificate and diploma level courses.

Certificates will be awarded for students who complete a prescribed number of Basic (non-credit) courses.  Diplomas will be awarded for students who complete a prescribed number of Diploma (credit) courses.

Initially the CMBA Extension Center will offer the following classes:

Basic Level Classes

     1.  Understanding the Bible:  This course begins where the Bible begins--with God.  The course is built on the belief that the Bible grew out of God's desire to reveal Himself to man, and that it contains help for all our spiritual needs.

     2.  Great Doctrines of the Bible:  This course will help the student understand the meaning of doctrine, why a study of doctrine is important, and how to study doctrine.

Diploma Level Classes

     1.  How to Understand the Bible:  This course is a basic introduction to the nature and purpose of the Bible and how to understand it.  As a background for in-depth Bible study, the course deals with such basic considerations as the nature of the Bible itself, principles of Biblical interpretations, etc.

     2.  Biblical Backgrounds:  This course includes the geographical, language, history, and archaeology of the Bible.

Each of the classes is one of the required "core" classes, and they can be applied to any of the courses of study that you might pursue.

We're all set to begin classes during the week of January 23, 2006.  Tentatively, we've planned for all the classes to be offered during the evening hours for the benefit of those working.

Rest assured that all the materials for the accredited courses are written by professors from our SBC seminaries.  All teachers will be certified by the Seminary Extension Director in Nashville, TN.
